More than 85,000 tickets have been sold across the two cities - that's one in 50 New Zealanders buying a ticket to the rock and roll extravaganza.
Tuesday - the day Ac/Dc went on sale - was Ticketek's biggest sales day in Wellington ever! More tickets were sold on the Internet than ever before for a Wellington event. And Ac/Dc's smashed the record for the fastest ever rollover to a second show for a stadium event in Wellington.
Due to the huge demand, a second and final wellington concert was put on sale within hours of the first going on sale.
Tickets to the second Wellington show on Saturday, January 30 are still available through Ticketek... but fans are urged to be quick!
In Auckland, 48,000 tickets were sold in three hours - again setting the benchmark for the fastest selling concert in Auckland's history. Tickets are still available for this concert with Ticketmaster.
Concert promoter Garry Van Egmond is ecstatic with the response from New Zealand.
"There has been huge demand for tickets to Ac/Dc all around the world and New Zealand proved it's no exception," he said. "You love the band as much as everyone else.
"Fans now span the generations. We had people queuing in Auckland and Wellington through the night to be first in line on Tuesday morning. They ranged in age from five upwards. Ac/Dc has such broad appeal and the concert is no ordinary concert. It's an event."
Ac/Dc will blast their way through New Zealand with one of the largest stage productions ever seen. The production will be moved around the country by 48 semi-trailers.
Van Egmond says that Western Springs is tipped to be the "jewel in the crown" of the Australasian tour.
"It's iconic as a concert venue and it's natural amphitheatre makes it one of the best places to hold a rock concert in this part of the world," he said.
